FLYING BRICK CIDER CO., WALLINGTON
Centrum Architects were engaged in 2012 to design and document another exciting project for a repeat client.
With the recent popularity of cider and population growth around the Geelong Region, our client wished to give it's Flying Brick Cider brand a prominent home on the Bellarine Highway, and an opportunity to present 'real cider' through an on site microbrewery, tasting bar and casual restaurant.
The design draws inspiration from the brand's name and mascot - the yellow-tailed black cockatoo, or 'Flying Brick'. The birds nature is spunky, happy, playful and a little naughty, contributing to a relaxed, funky and slightly rustic aesthetic. The building is organised into two parts - literally the 'wing' and the 'brick' forming the dining hall and back of house spaces respectively.
