Centrum Architects were engaged in 2010 to undertake a master plan and design of a new intermediate learning neighbourhood for Frankston Heights Primary School. Before the steel was erected, the builder went into receivership. Centrum led the team to quickly assess the current status, take appropriate steps and appoint another builder and the project was still completed on time and on budget.

The design incorporates the following key ESD principles:

  • Passive solar design
  • Natural cross ventilation and night purging
  • Efficient envelope and glazing
  • Rainwater harvesting for toilet flushing
  • Lighting control and natural light
