A green change, a love of landscape, an eye for design and an empty nest were all factors in our clients decision to establish a new house and grounds on Mornington Peninsula. Having had an architect designed home over 20 years before to suit a young family, then now needed to create for the next stage – a home for themselves and a family base for their children and grandchildren to congregate to.

The site enjoyed distant views of Westernport Bay across gently sloping farmland which dictated the orientation of the plan which also sat neatly on the contours. Externally a tall pitched roof combines with aircraft-type modelling at the wide eaves in a distinctive line. Internally exposed aggregate concrete floors, large areas of glass combined with recycled timber straps and a neutral palette create a harmonious spirit from which to enjoy the newly established gardens of fruit and formality.
